Birch Cliff Neighbourhood History

The development of Birch Cliff began around 1895 after the popular and historic Hunt Club moved to the area. The area was originally home to summer homes that were built in the last 1800’s and early 1900’s. At that time, the area was home to many Birch Trees which contributed to the name “Birch Cliff” after one of the owners at that time had given their summer home the name “Birch Cliff”. The development of all season homes in the area began between the early 1900’s and the 1920’s.

Birch Cliff Neighbourhood Today

Today, Birch Cliff consists of many of the original older bungalow homes as well as newer custom homes, townhomes, semi-detached homes and condos. The Hunt Club still sits on the edge of the bluffs to this day, providing breathtaking views for golfers as well as the surrounding residents. Birch Cliff is popular among a wide range of individuals including but not limited to young families, baby boomers and seniors.
