Sir William Henry Mill Pellatt built the notorious Casa Loma medieval castle in 1911. He spent approximately $3.5M to build this majestic building and it took three years to build with the help of approximately 300 workers. Mr. Pellatt owned Casa Loma for only ten years before running into financial hardship and that ultimately forced him to hand over Casa Loma to the City of Toronto.
Casa Loma is one of Toronto’s most unique and beautiful neighbourhoods. With the large historical castle that overlooks the city and homes in the area, it truly has a magical feel. The neighbourhood is for families and individuals who work in the Financial District and Mid Town.
Casa Loma consists of many large detached Edwardian, Tudor and Gorgian homes that are situated on spacious lots located along tree-lined streets.
