East Bay Front was once a part of Lake Ontario before fill was added in the 1950’s in order to create an industrial area. In 1999 the City of Toronto recognized that the area was in need for revitalization. Three levels of government came together to make this happen.
Today, East Bayfront consists of several high-rise condos. The area was once a dull and quiet area other than for the notorious Guvernment Nightclub that called it home before being torn down to make way for one of the first condos in the area. One unique feature of this neighbourhood is the man made “Sugar Beach” which includes vibrant pink umbrellas and lounge chairs that sit on sugar white sand with beautiful views of the harbour. This is a popular spot during the summer months amongst locals looking to catch some sun. There is also a park, splash pad, skating rink, commercial space and college campus. East Bayfront is a short walk from the Toronto Harboufront, St. Lawrence Market and Distillery District.
East Bayfront consists of various high-rise condos with breathtaking views of the city and Lake Ontario. Some of the condos include suites include large south facing patios that have stunning views.
