In 1824, a man named James Hogg settled in what is known today as Hogg’s Hollow. James operated a grist mill and whiskey distillery. John Hogg and William Hogg, the two sons of James would later subdivide the land in 1856 after the passing of their father James, they decided to name the area “Hogg’s Hollow”.
Today, Hogg’s Hollow consists of beautiful winding tree-lined streets, large homes and spacious lots. The neighbourhood is conveniently located a short drive from Hwy 401 and is on the Yonge TTC subway line for those who commute.
Many of the homes in Hogg’s Hollow were built between the 1920’s and 1960’s. The homes are a mixture of Tudor, Georgian, Colonial and English Cottage style homes.
