After the Bayview Bridge was built in 1929, this area of the city was considered for Development. Prior to the bridge being built, throughout the 1800’s and early 1900’s, the land was used as farmland. Hubert Daniel Bull Page was a local developer who is responsible for the Bridle Path neighbourhood as we know it today.
Today, the bridle path includes some of Canada’s largest and most expensive homes. The neighbourhood consists of wide tree-lined streets with gated entrances to the estates that are found throughout the Bridle Path community. Several A list celebrities as well as prominent business people currently call the Bridle Path home.
Most of the homes in the Bridle Path were built in the 1930’s, 1950’s and 1960’s.
There is a wide range of home styles throughout the community, including Colonial, Tudor Revival, Greek and California bungalows.
